Do not use Voltaren Emulgel if you are a pregnant woman, or if you are breast-feeding. Do not use Voltaren Emulgel for children under 12 years of age unless the VOLBAP dose is used for a longer time. Do not use Voltaren Emulgel for more than 3 months without checking with the pharmacist. Do not apply to skin with a skin cleanser, such as a cleanser that you apply on the skin. Do not apply to oily or spicy areas. Do not use if the Voltaren Emulgel is worn out. The U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ) today announced that it has reached an agreement with Pfizer Inc. (“Pfizer”) to settle U. patent infringement suits involving the pain and suffering product Voltaren®. The agreement provides Pfizer with a duty to defend the product against litigation claims. As part of the settlement, Pfizer will provide U. consumers with an opportunity to make a full-time, upfront payment to settle claims of Voltaren®.
Pfizer’s agreement with U. consumers, along with Pfizer’s agreement with the U. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”), gives Pfizer exclusive rights to market Voltaren® in the United States. The agreement provides Pfizer with a duty to defend the product against U. generic competition. Additionally, Pfizer will be responsible for resolving the litigation if it is discovered to be related to the manufacture, supply or sale of the product, which is not in the U. market. consumers with an opportunity to make a full-time, upfront payment to resolve their claims of Voltaren®.
District Court for the District of Columbia, having been notified by the DOJ of the settlement, has granted Pfizer an opportunity to defend the product against claims for the pain and suffering product Voltaren®.
